High gasoline prices and high gasoline taxes harm the quality-of-life of Americans.

Is this true if gas taxes are rebated? Making polluters responsible for pollution raised prices for consumers; did this harm our quality of life? If open-access resources like the bluefin tuna fishery are closed and catches closely limited, and managed so that fishers have incentives to invest in sustainable yield, prices will rise - will this also harm our quality of life?

the Federal government should facilitate transportation options, not limit them. Gas taxes should pay for road improvements, not increased in an attempt to manipulate American society.

Heck, why shouldn't gas taxes, and government support for road systems, be ended altogether? Shouldn't the federal government get out of the interstate highway business?

But as for manipulation, should leaded gasoline be made legal again?
