Jon Haubert has more than fifteen years of government and public affairs experience in congressional and communications strategies, with an emphasis in western energy and environmental policy issues. He serves at the media contact for the Institute for Energy Research (IER.)

He owns H.B. Legacy Media Co., which is designed to tackle complex and difficult-to-message topics.

In 2013, Jon helped launch Coloradans for Responsible Energy Development (CRED), the largest public education effort in Colorado’s history aimed exclusively at informing the general public about the energy, economic and environmental benefits of safe and responsible oil and natural gas development.

Prior to CRED, Jon was the manager of communications for Western Energy Alliance, a nonprofit trade association representing more than 430 member companies engaged in all aspects of exploration and production of oil and natural gas in the West.

Jon also served as a Congressional aide and senior staff member to Congressman Richard W. Pombo, former Chairman of the U.S. House Natural Resources Committee.

Haubert holds a degree in Political Science and minor in History from the University of California at Santa Barbara.
