PYLE: Energy Department Has Become Politicized Petri Dish

WASHINGTON D.C. — President Obama has nominated Dr. Ernest Moniz to be the next Secretary of Energy. Moniz, a nuclear physicist, will succeed Dr. Steven Chu. IER President Thomas Pyle released the following statement in response to the nomination:

“The Department of Energy has become a politicized petri dish for the green energy experiments of the Obama administration. Dr. Moniz will inherit an agency with a tarnished record for picking losers and not winners in the energy market. It is our hope that Dr. Moniz will avoid opportunities to repeat the well documented mistakes of his predecessor and refuse the temptation to let political pressure trump sound science and economics at the department.”
