United Technologies Corporation Power, a Connecticut based company, reported that it will supply 110 PureCycle geothermal power systems to a Utah-based company. This is in addition to the 90 that were ordered one year ago.

The 200 systems total will have capability to generate 40 to 45 megawatts per hour of renewable electric power. The geothermal power plants built by the Utah based Raser Technologies will qualify for federal renewable energy tax credits.

  1. Andrew Mongar Says:

PureCycle power systems work great when the temperature differential is great enough. UTC could sell huge numbers if they used a new method to elevate geothermal temperatures thus increasing the resource base many thousand fold.
Technology for this was based on the a/c technology shown on the website indicated and is currently being updated to include the thermo-chemical heat pump. Funding for development is being sought.
