UTC power to supply 110 geothermal power systems to Utah based company

United Technologies Corporation Power, a Connecticut based company, reported that it will supply 110 PureCycle geothermal power systems to a Utah-based company. This is in addition to the 90 that were ordered one year ago.

Engineer works with algae biofuel system

Engineer and inventor, Alfonz Viszolay, has been working with algae-based fuel production for the last few decades. Most recently he has deployed a prototype that will use CO2 emissions from a brewery operation to accelerate the growth of algae. The prototype will be used by Santa Fe Brewing Co.

Dominion plans 300MW wind farm

Dominion Energy has plans for a 300MW Prairie Fork wind farm in central Illinois. The farm will feature 150-200 turbines across 25,000 acres in the Illinois counties of Christian and Montgomery 25 miles southeast of Springfield.

Natural gas supplies drop

Natural gas storage fell last week and is 1.8 percent below the five-year average for this time of year. The Energy Department said the natural gas inventories held in underground storage fell by 14 billion cubic feet. These were the expectations of analysts surveyed by Dow Jones Newswires.
